Abstract This research paper provides an overview on why there is oil price falling in the United States. It will examine the reasons that are influencing fall of oil prices. Additionally, the paper will seek to explore the effects caused by the fall of oil prices in the American’s economy. Introduction In the recent months, the prices of crude oil have dropped from 140 dollars per barrel to 60 dollars a barrel in the latest date. To begin with, there is technological revolution in the energy extraction referred to as â€Å"fracking† which has significantly increased supply of natural gas and petroleum in the America, allowing them not to depend heavily on the foreign sources of crude oil. Literature review Oil prices hike or drop is normally a major concern to researchers, industries as well as the government. Oil majorly affects the operations of all sectors of economy in any nation. From analysis and monitoring of oil prices, it has been observed that oil prices went down from the second half of 2014. This was unexpected because oil prices had stabilized for about four years with each barrel costing 105 US Dollars (Miller 11). According to a research and simulation done by researchers in 2014, there was a prediction speculating oil prices would remain low in 2015 and marginally rise in 2016. However, in 2015 there has been a very sharp decline of oil prices. The chapter 1 called Up To The Starting Line gives a brief report on the topic of evolution of the first human ancestors. The earliest stages of human evolution took place in Africa with abundant of fossil evidence to prove. We all originated in Africa around 7 million years age. Our closet common ancestor living are called the surviving species of the great apes that are chimpanzee, bonobo, and gorilla. But the most closets animal to humans are chimpanzee. The homo erectus was significantly close to us in modern human body size but lacks half of the brain. Homo erectus were more than an ape but still more different than a human. The Americas were the first to colonized by the Clovis people. While archaeologist claim that they were Clovis people to first settle but somehow Diamond doesn t believe it because he need more proof or fossil evidence. Only reason that this explanation fail to express why Eurasia became advance earlier than Africa when they had a head start. . In the chapter called A Natural Experiment of History the Moriori and Maori both descended from the Polynesian people. The question that Diamond is trying to answer is what made the two group so different from each other because they came from the same people. The Moriori were hunter gathers of a small isolated population that were equipped with only simply technology and weapons. They were inexperienced at war. Also lacked strong leadership in order to take care of their group. But the Maori invader (from New Zealand s North Island) came from large population of famers. The farmers in Maori constantly engaged in wars, more advanced in technology and weapon. Maori operated under a strong leadership. There is no hesitation that when the two group came in contact Maori would had destroyed the Moriori. On the other hand since the Maori and Moriori descended from the same race cannot defend why one group was more advance over the other. Transportation helped each area develop economically and socially. Transportation helped by making the South making money by sending cotton to the north so they can manufacture clothes. The development of business in the south grew and demands started increasing, so slaves had to work faster and harder. The gold rush was the major factor of people moving to the western part of the United States. Overall, the economy of the U. S. improved economically because of the railroads and canals allowed people to trade and communicate faster. The north played the role of manufacturing goods for the south and west. The west was supplying most of the United States with food and it was most of that area consisted of farmers and foreigners. The south was the one who gave the North the cotton in order for them to create their manufactured goods. So the economy had a cycle that depended on all 3 areas to cooperate. Socially, the U. S. ad a dramatic change because all 3 areas changed and this was a time before the Civil war. The south had become more dependent on slaves and the North was employing more people in their factories. Tenstions began to grow between the North and South as people staretd moving around a lot. Northern people would explore the South and started knowing how the South treated their slaves and major conflicts started happening between the two.
